Summer Term 2019
Hopefully, fingers crossed the summer is finally here! For the summer term we will be concentrating on history and learning about the fascinating Ancient Egyptians. We will be learning about the famous pyramids, why there were so many mummies, why cats were important to the Egyptians, learning about the many Gods and Goddesses and finding out about the fabulous Tutankhamen. Also, we will be going on our trip to the Collection in June to experience an Egyptian day and showing off 'our best bits' in our class assembly on 20th June.
Spring term 2019
Welcome to Roe Deer class. We are are a class of 27 enthusiastic year 1 & 2 children.
Our teacher is Mrs Lee and the teaching assistant is Mrs Stamp..
We are excited to be learning all about space for the next two terms. We will be learning all about the solar system, finding out the names of planets and learning the correct order they orbit around the sun.
To help us we are very, very excited about StarLincs planetarium coming into school where we will experience the night sky in a huge dome in our hall.
We will learn about the music that was famously composed by Holst about the planets and have a go at composing our own music too. We will make planets and draw them using a variety of materials.
We will learn about the Apollo 11 mission to the moon and learn about Tim Peake and the space station. Watch this space for our exciting work!
Autumn 2018
Our new topic is called 'Marvellous,Magnificent, Me.' As the title suggests it is all about ourselves and we will be learning about the local area; going on a village walk and finding out about the shops and houses in Billingborough village. Also, we will be finding out about what it was like to be a pupil at Billingborough Primary school when it first opened in the Victorian times, learning about the lessons and even do a bit of role play. We will be learning about famous artists and will try painting our own portraits and listen to and compose our own music. So watch this space for photographs and samples of our work as we begin our exciting learning journey this term.
Roe Deer class drew their portraits recently. Here are a few of them. Watch this space for more!
