Scarborough 2019
We had the most wonderful time on our trip to Scarborough PLUS we had the sunshine! We hope that you enjoy looking through our photographs.
2017... This was last time... Thank goodness it was drier this year!
The oldest house found in the British Isles was unearthed at the Star Carr site near Scarborough. It dates back to around 8,500 BC, is 11 feet wide and uses 18 wooden poles in a circle as the framework.
Not long to go now!
Trousers - check!
T-shirts - check!
Clean socks - please check!!
Don't forget to get a good night's sleep tonight and set your
alarm to get you to school on time in the morning. The bus needs to leave by 9.30 a.m. and we don't want to go without you!
Scarborough has a population of more than 61,000, making it the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. People who live there are known as Scarborians.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that the weather forecast, showing no rain and some sunshine, is reliable!
The staff got particularly excited when they saw this picture....but unfortunately it's Scarborough, Trinidad and not North Yorkshire!
It's time to go, sun is shining, are we ready?
Got the t-shirt...
Last case, squeeze it in!
All aboard!
Can we come to the seaside? When's it our turn?
See you later!
We can see the sea-ee!
All arrived safely, time to get going!
Don't you wish you were here?
Oh, we do like to be beside the sea side!
On the prom, prom prom!
So our intrepid explorers have the sea breeze in their faces and sand in their shoes!
All safely at their destination.
A picture just asking for a caption competition. Answers on a postcard....
Hi Mum!
We've all had a super day and are safely settled into our bedrooms at the Guesthouse. We enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal before heading out to the park to use up some energy before bed!
Everyone has headed up to bed now. Mrs McLeary has read some bedtime stories and we're hoping to have a good night's sleep ready for tomorrow's activities. Good night.
Some of us were up at 4 a.m. and saw the sunrise. This is what the staff will be drinking today, along with a lot of these...
We're hoping to be leaving Scarborough by 3pm and will keep school updated with regular intervals throughout our journey.
But first......

What memories will we make today?
We've all had the most fabulous time away but it's great to be back home. We have lots of wonderful memories, and stories to tell. We hope that you have enjoyed our photographs.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
