June 2016
Over the recent months, food in our school has developed with the launch of our Breakfast Club in January and our new lunch provider Ideal Meals since April. We now offer a healthy and tasty breakfast and for lunch there are 4 main course options each day with a choice of 3 desserts too.
To enhance our food provision further we now would like to offer a tea time snack, for a small cost, for those children who come to club. The cost for snack will be £1.25 per child per “meal”. The cost of after school club food is added to your invoice, if your child has a tea time snack at school.
Children will be able to have a tea time snack from approximately 4pm. Our aim is to encourage children to enjoy eating whilst socialising with their friends and taking part in a range of activities.
February 2016
A big well done to Miss Gardner and the Club team who have served over 50 breakfasts a week since we began our new early morning provision! We appreciate the thanks you have given school for making this improvement to our wrap around care.
Breakfast Club - January 2016
From Monday 25th January - Friday 29th January we offered a trial breakfast service at our Before School Club, we were delighted to serve over seventy breakfasts in our first week! In response to this very positive take up we now offer breakfast every day.
There will be an additional charge of £1.25 per day, added to your invoice, if your child has breakfast at school.
Breakfast Week
(Monday 24th January – Friday 29th January)
There is never a more important time to eat a good breakfast than when the mornings are cold and the
threat of winter ailments, coughs and colds lurk in the air. With this in mind we are going to begin a trial breakfast service in school at our before school club. We will begin with offering our regular attendees complimentary cereal, juice and toast. If this is successful we will begin to offer breakfast, for a small
charge to cover costs, from after February half term. We hope this will help our working parents and may
make our wraparound provision suitable for other families too. Once this is established, we will be
investigating after school snacks as well!
Children will be able to have breakfast up until 8.20 am so if you would like to ensure your child has a
meal please arrange for them to be in Before School Club by this time. Our aim is to encourage children
to eat breakfast whilst socialising with their friends and taking part in a range of activities before
joining their class for morning lessons. We would welcome feedback from both children and parents.
The breakfast menu includes:
Orange Juice
Cereal
Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes or Weetabix with semi skimmed milk
Wholemeal Toast
Served with sunflower spread and low sugar jams, marmalade or cheese spread
Fruit and Unsweetened Natural Yoghurt
Fruit offered is a mix of fresh, tinned e.g. pineapple or peaches or dried e.g. raisins or apricots
(The charge is £1.25 per child and they may choose some or all of the above.
Portion sizes are those instructed by the DfE Food in Schools)
"I had a lovely breakfast. Thank you Ms Gardner and Mrs McCormack for
the toast and jam. I loved it."
Merryn
"I loved my breakfast it was really scrumptious. Thank you."

June 2015
Before and After School Club provision will transfer to the kitchen using the side door. A new door bell will be fitted and parents dropping off and collecting are asked to use this entrance from Monday 15th. In due course this means we will be able to offer breakfast and after school club snacks to children attending club. More news to follow soon.
