We constantly monitor the building to ensure that the children, staff and visitors are safe. It is really important that the staff and children feel safe so they can teach and learn in a relaxed environment.
Premises Security and Staff Presence
Whilst the children are in school the building and premises are secure. We do rely on parents and visitors to maintain this safety. The main gates, at the front entrance to the playground and office, are kept locked throughout the school day.
Any visitors will ring the office doorbell or phone the office and a member of staff will meet them at the gate and deal with the issue there. If they are a visitor to the school, they will need to sign in and will be provided with a sticker.
The gates are open in the morning until 8:50am. Staff then open the gates at the entrance at 2.50pm, until all the children have gone home.
We do ask parents not to stop or park on marked areas, to ensure child safety.
If you are worried about any aspects of this then please speak to a member of staff.
Door Entry Key Fobs
Key doors are operated by a key fob. Each member of staff wears this at all times. A buzzer entry is on the main entrance and you will need to use this to enter the building. Staff may open the door for you, but the children have been taught not to open this door to anyone. We feel it is an adult’s decision to make to allow people into the building.
Risk Assessments
The building has a variety of risk assessments completed at regular intervals. These include: Water, fire, classrooms, electrical equipment, playground equipment etc.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
