Class Teachers may set remote work on Times Tables Rock Stars or their younger counterparts, Numbots. Children will have been given their log-in details, these will have been stuck inside their reading record book(Key Stage 1) or orange planner (Key Stage 2).
You can play this on a desktop or a tablet/smart phone. The app is free to download on both Android and Apple. Children will be met with a log-in page. They will need to select our school and then log in with their details.
Upon logging on, children will see an interface with different options on. Their teachers can set certain multiplication tables, which go alongside classroom teacher. Older children may see that all multiplication tables are allocated to their account.
Each child and teacher will have their own rock name and avatar. By playing sessions, children earn more coins which allows them to access the 'store', so they can use these to personalise their own rock star! The more you play, the more coins you will have to buy funky new looks.
Leader boards are created, dependant on total coins earned. The fantastic thing is that children have anonymity, as the leader boards only display their rock names and avatars.
Teachers will be able to track your child's accuracy and speed answering questions, meaning staff can tailor intervention or challenge for children. This heat map shows that this child is secure in ones showing green, whereas the orange and red are areas where they need extra practice.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
