Where do I buy my uniform?
All items can now be purchased in our online shop at
A small amount of stock is held in school for last- minute purchases! We may not have every size in stock at all times.
We believe that a school uniform is important because it:
· looks smart
· wears well
· contributes to a sense of belonging
· gives a common purpose
· fosters a feeling of pride
. is cost effective for parents
. removes focus from brands or fashion and acts as a social leveler
We keep uniform costs as low as possible by allowing chain store choices of skirts/ dresses/shirts/trousers and shorts. We buy and sell school jumpers and PE kit at no profit to the school and we provide every child's first book bag free of charge. We offer quality pre-loved uniform where we can. We believe this makes dressing for school very economical. In return, we ask for your support to ensure your child wears their uniform with respect and pride, so school presents its self in the manner that our pupils deserve. Your help in maintaining the current high standards is appreciated. Please see the dress code below.
Inappropriate accessories or clothing may be held by the class teacher and returned to parents at the end of the day.
Bags and Rucksacks
Children need a book bag or equivalent-sized alternative to carry reading books and planners to and from school
A packed lunch box, required
We do not have the space on pegs or in lockers to accommodate large rucksacks or satchels, so staff may ask for these to be taken home if they exceed the space available for daily storage. Overflowing lockers and pegs are a safety hazard.
Pencil Cases are not required, as we provide all the stationery the children need. If brought to school, they will be politely returned.
(NB Nursery children only require a pair of plimsolls, which are kept in their tray)
From Reception Upwards:
Plain black or navy shorts
Billingborough School round neck white PE T-shirt or plain white round neck T shirt - no logos
Trainers or plimsolls - class teacher will advise which you need, dependent on the lessons & seasons
White ankle socks (in winter, if children are wearing tights, please ensure socks are provided for PE)
When the weather is cold, plain black or navy track suit trousers may be worn for outside sport with plain trainers. At other times, they will normally be expected to remove these for the actual lesson.
If your child cannot tie laces, please provide Velcro fastening trainers
